My name is Sydney Symes, and I am the Founder and Executive Director of Habit of the Heart Ministries. I am grateful beyond words to be serving the Lord and seeing this dream He placed on my heart years ago come to fruition. Our God is good, and you can read more about how He has been faithful to me and this ministry here.
The True Heroes
Habit of the Heart would not be operating if it was not for the members of the community who invest in this ministry. The volunteers and donors are being the hands and feet of Jesus as they enable our ministry to connect with more individuals and communities for the sake of the Gospel. We are blessed to have such people on our team and grateful to be able to respond by blessing others in return. Our Volunteer Needs
Concert Events
Performers (casted as vocalists, instrumentalists, dancers, actors, and/or narrators - auditions to be held in advance)
Assistant director (help with program logistics and rehearsals in the month leading up to the concert)*
Stagehand (manage costumes and props the days of the dress rehearsal and concert)*
A/V manager (run sound board and/or manage other audio/video elements of the performance)
Costumes and set design (use your sewing, crafting, and/or building skills to create costumes and set pieces in the month leading up to the concert)
Dress rehearsal assistant (help monitor and assist performers during the dress rehearsal and serve dress rehearsal meal, if needed)*
Event set-up/tear-down
General event volunteer (run food and/or game stations during the event)
Music Lessons
Teachers (lead weekly private lessons in voice, piano, or guitar for a 6-week period of time)*
Hosts (provide a dedicated music-making space for weekly lessons - can be in-home or on-site at a church or organization)*
Teacher mentors (provide coaching to music teachers during their 6-week teaching commitment)
Recital helper (assist with event set-up/tear-down and serving food)
