Music Lessons
Stewarding the gift of music.
At Habit of the Heart, we not only want to share the gift of music, but we want to help people discover that gift at a deeper level in the skills and abilities the Lord has blessed us with. We offer a music discovery lesson series that teaches music theory basics and gives students the opportunity to learn how to play a song of their choice. Additionally, students may have the opportunity to learn a song alongside other students and get to experience practicing and performing as a group! All of this is accompanied by discipleship curriculum that facilitates conversations on why we make music: to worship the Lord, express emotions, and connect with others.
How do lessons work?
Our music discovery lesson series is for 6 weeks at a time with a recital at the end. Our classes are designed to be accessible to families in lower income areas and are priced at $15/each ($90/summer). For each student's first series of lessons, these fees go towards the cost of an instrument that they will get to own at the end of the course! When students return for additional series, their lesson fees go towards the cost of music, accessories for their own instrument, and instruments for other students.
All of our lessons are personalized for the student and conducted by one of our volunteer teachers, who are matched with students according to their skillset, schedule, and proximity. If you are interested in lessons, please fill out the form below to let us know!
